How to Shop for Speechify Voices and Audiobooks
Start with Speechify's free trial to test its text-to-speech and voice AI features before committing to any purchase. The trial gives you access to core functionality, so you can hear how natural the voices sound and whether the reading speed suits your workflow. Once ready to buy, you'll find audiobooks, premium voice subscriptions, and AI voice packages on the site. Speechify offers both monthly and annual billing, so you can choose what fits your budget. The checkout is straightforward and typically processes in seconds. A key advantage: the subscription model is flexible—you can pause or cancel anytime if the service no longer meets your reading or productivity needs. Speechify also runs exclusive promotions and giveaways tied to your subscription level, rewarding long-term customers with additional savings.
What You Pay For at Speechify
Speechify charges for voice quality and feature access. The free trial includes basic text-to-speech, but paid plans unlock premium AI voices that sound more natural and expressive. Natural speech voices cost $139 annually—the core paid tier for most users. Beyond voices, Speechify charges for audiobook library expansion, which supplements the text you can convert from PDFs or web pages. Founder Cliff Weitzman, who is dyslexic, built Speechify as an accessibility tool for readers with learning differences and busy professionals. That mission shapes the pricing: Speechify positions itself as accessibility first, productivity second. For heavy readers—whether tackling books, research papers, or long articles—annual subscriptions often cost less than buying equivalent audiobooks individually.
