What we do not collect
We do not ask you for anything. There is no registration, no login, no newsletter sign-up at present, no comment form, and no survey. We do not run advertising on this site, so there is no advertising network building a profile of you while you read.
What the server records
Like every web server, ours keeps a technical log of requests so the site can be kept running and attacks can be spotted. An entry contains the address requested, the time, the network address the request came from, the browser's self-description, and the page you arrived from if your browser sent one. We use these records to keep the site working and secure, and for nothing else. We do not sell them, we do not trade them, and we do not use them to try to identify you.
Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. What does happen is this: when you follow a link out to a brand or a retailer, that company's own site will typically set a cookie recording that you arrived from us, which is how the commission described in our affiliate disclosure is attributed. That cookie is set by them, on their site, under their privacy policy — not by us. Your browser settings control it, and blocking it costs you nothing except our commission.
Companies that necessarily see something
Two kinds, and only two. Our hosting and network providers handle the traffic that serves you these pages, which they cannot do without seeing the requests. And the retailers you choose to visit see you arrive, as any site does. We do not pass anything about you to anybody else, because we do not have anything about you to pass.
Children
This site is written for adults making purchases and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anybody under the age at which consent applies in their country.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what information an operator holds about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Write to [email protected] and we will deal with it. In most cases the honest answer will be that we hold nothing beyond ordinary server logs, which expire on their own.
Changes to this page
If this policy changes we will change this page and update the date at the bottom of it. We will not change it quietly and claim it always said that.
